FEATURED: Mighty Fairly Demo CD

A great band headed up by the fairly mighty,
Mischa Seumnig. Heartbreak 101 was made
as a demo CD for Mischa to use as a tool to
shop for a producer. The entire piece was
screenprinted (Mischa helped!) and
assembled at my studio. We had to keep
it on the cheap so this was the most cost
effective method. 12.5"x19" sheets of paper
were printed 4-colors. Since there was going
to be a blank area on the inside cover, I put
together a lockup of old wood type and
ornaments in a Vandercook flatbed press
and we blind pressed the white side of all
the sheets. To make a pocket for the CD
to sit and increase the tactile quality we
simply folded the cut sheets in thirds and
sewed the sides closed.
It's nice when things just work out.
